Dr Raibhan Yadav is currently the Director of Cardiology and Senior Staff Specialist at The Townsville Hospital (TTH). He has extensive local experience, having worked in Townsville since 2001. He completed his training in Interventional Cardiology at the Townsville General Hospital in 2003. He completed his Cardiology training at The Grant Medical College in Mumbai in 1998 and gained experience at the prestigious Madras Medical Mission and The Palmerston North Hospital in New Zealand. He gained his FRACP in 2005.
Since 2003, he has had extensive experience in Coronary Angiography and PCI. He performs Structural Heart Intervention including ASD, PFO closures and Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty.
He is an experienced General Cardiologist with extensive exposure to valvular heart disease and arrhythmias. Dr Yadav was instrumental in setting up the Heart Failure unit at TTH and has particular interest in pregnancy related heart conditions and management of peri operative cardiac conditions including workups of patients for noncardiac surgery. He is proficient in echocardiography and including transoesophageal echo.
Dr Yadav has extensive teaching and research experience having been supervisor of training for Advanced Training in Cardiology at TTH and Principal Investigator for multicentre trials conducted at TTH. He is an Adjunct Senior lecturer at JCU.
